Workflow 4: “My Students Struggle To Read”

Step 1: I upload the text into the Auto Annotator or Text Engineer. The assistants help break the text into smaller parts, add guiding questions, explain vocabulary, and provide annotations that support comprehension and close reading.

Step 2: I connect the reading to the Skills Library so students can directly learn skills such as tone, argument, central idea, or evidence-based analysis.

Step 3: I use the Custom Lesson Generator to build a structured lesson around the literacy skills in the text, with modeling, scaffolds, and guided practice.

Step 4: If some students need additional support, I use the Text Modifier to create a more accessible version of the reading.

Step 5: I finish with the Assessment Creator to design a close-reading response, rubric, or writing task aligned directly to the target skills.

This workflow helps students move beyond basic comprehension and begin noticing how texts work, why authors make certain choices, and how to explain their thinking clearly.
