Workflow 6: “My students can get the answer to a math problem, but they can’t explain their thinking”

Step 1: I upload the math problems into the Math Skills Analyzer. The assistant identifies the underlying skills students need, such as modeling, justifying steps, interpreting quantities, and explaining reasoning.

Step 2: I use the Skills Library to help students learn and practice those skills with videos, slides, infographics, tutoring scripts, and podcasts.

Step 3: I use the Custom Lesson Generator to build a lesson focused not just on getting answers, but on explaining mathematical thinking step by step.

Step 4: If students need more support, I use the Text Modifier, Text Engineer, or Accommodations Suggester to simplify directions, break problems into steps, add guiding questions, and provide sentence frames or structured supports.

Step 5: I finish with the Assessment Creator to build reasoning checks, error-analysis tasks, and rubrics focused on mathematical explanation.

This workflow helps students move beyond computation and develop the ability to explain, justify, and communicate their mathematical thinking clearly.
