Step 1: I use the Subject-Specific Assistants to identify the skills students need for the current lesson and determine where the gaps are.

Step 2: I use the Skills Library to build foundational skills in areas such as reading, writing, speaking, math reasoning, vocabulary, and nonfiction comprehension.

Step 3: I choose supports that match how the student learns best, including videos, podcasts, infographics, tutoring scripts, visuals, and written explanations. Students can practice the same skill in multiple ways.

Step 4: During class, I continue using the Virtual Assistants to scaffold grade-level materials by annotating texts, simplifying language, chunking tasks, and adding supports so students can still participate in classroom learning.

Step 5: I reinforce learning over time through repeated skill practice, tutoring conversations, independent review, and differentiated supports.

This workflow helps students build missing foundational skills while still staying connected to grade-level instruction. Instead of just helping students “get through” a lesson, it helps them gradually catch up and become more independent learners.
